The AGM commemorated 30 years of evolving video entertainment, as well as celebrating the plethora of choice in format and content delivery channels now available to consumers, making video entertainment more accessible than ever before.

The evening started with the annual statement from BVA Chairman, Anthony Peet, General Manager for The Walt Disney Company followed by the Director General’s annual news review.

David Elstein, Chairman Screen Digest addressed the guests followed by a suprise presentation from MPA President and EMEA Managing Director Chris Marcich to Lavinia Carey on behalf of the International Video Federation citing the British Video Association's "enthusiastic commitment to the European home entertainment industry under the outstanding leadership of Lavinia Carey”.

Minister for the Creative Industries, Ed Vaizey attended earlier in the day and addressed BVA Council privately.

His speech was then shown by video to the guests.  He said “I’m delighted to be able to take part in commemorating 30 years of the BVA’s work. This is an impressive milestone and a reminder that the video entertainment industry has gone from strength to strength, keeping pace with rapid changes in technology and the increasing demands of audiences. I’m proud to champion the UKs creative industries, which make such an important cultural and economic contribution and will be a key player in the country’s growth in the digital era"
