MILES JUPP TO HOST THE 2012 BVA AWARDS 3rd May is new date for 2012 Awards to ensure no one misses out!

15th December 2011. A new date has been set for the 2012 BVA Awards at Old Billingsgate of 3rd May and the BVA is delighted to announce that they will be hosted by the talented Miles Jupp.
Miles Jupp is an award-winning comedian, actor and writer. He has been performing stand-up since 2000 and his debut Edinburgh solo show, Gentlemen Prefer Brogues, received a Perrier Best Newcomer nomination in 2004. Miles has since gone on to become one of the most in-demand acts on the comedy circuit and continues to be a Fringe favourite. The BVA has changed the date for next year’s awards to allow all industry sectors to attend this popular social fixture.
Miles has performed his inimitable brand of stand-up comedy on our screens – including a very well received turn on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and several appearances on Mock the Week. He’s also recently appeared on Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Wright Stuff.
As an actor Miles has had a particularly successful few years, having appeared in The Thick of It, Gary: Tank Commander, Campus, Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle and as a regular in BBC2’s BAFTA winning sitcom Rev. He has also appeared in the feature films Made in Dagenham, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix, Sherlock Holmes and Johnny English Reborn. Miles is, of course, well known for appearing in all four series of the children’s series Balamory.
On radio Miles has presented several series of BBC Radio 7’s Newsjack and is frequently on Radio 4’s The News Quiz as well as contributing to other R4 shows such as Arthur Smith’s Balham Bash and Loose Ends.
Lavinia Carey, Director General of the British Video Association, says, “Since the theme for the 2012 Awards is “Best of British” we felt Miles Jupp would be the perfect host. We’re so pleased to have secured Miles, as he wasn’t available on the first date we chose and we are certain he will be extremely popular and provide fabulous entertainment for our guests.”

The BVA’s members include film and television companies and independent labels who produce, license and distribute pre-recorded video entertainment, covering film, sport & fitness, music, TV, children’s and special interest programming. Its members account for some 90% of the sector.
