2001 Maniacs/2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams

Comedy horror double. In '2001 Maniacs' (2005), a group of college students are passing through the sinister Southern town of Pleasant Valley en route to Florida for the spring break holiday. The eccentric locals seem harmless and invite the students to stay for their annual barbecue. Little do the students know that they are the ones on the menu as the town takes revenge for the South's defeat in the American Civil War. Bill Moseley stars in the sequel, '2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams' (2010). Another group of eight college drifters find themselves waylaid in Pleasant Valley, where they are invited as guests of honour to the town's annual 'Guts n Glory' celebration barbecue. But before they know it they too are being picked off one by one as flesh fodder for the town's cannibalistic residents.
