Comedy triple. Adam Sandler stars in 'Funny People' (2009) as George Simmons, a famous comedian who finds out that he has an incurable blood disorder and is given less than a year to live. His subsequent desire to form a genuine bond with another human being causes him to proffer a hand up the career ladder to struggling newcomer Ira Wright (Seth Rogen), whom he takes under his wing as his assistant and opening act. Meanwhile, George also seeks reconciliation and closure in the central relationships of his life, in particular with his ex-wife Laura (Leslie Mann). 'Superbad' (2007) is an autobiographical teen comedy penned by Rogen and Evan Goldberg and produced by Judd Apatow. Two socially inept teenage boys are about to graduate from high school. Having been accepted into different colleges, the two are forced to contemplate life apart - a concept that induces severe separation anxiety in them both. Evan (Michael Cera) is sweet, smart, and generally terrified. Seth (Jonah Hill) is foul-mouthed, volatile, and all-consumed with the topic of human sexuality. The film portrays their misguided attempts to reverse a lifelong losing streak with the opposite sex in one panic-driven night - that awful, humiliating night you cherish for the rest of your life... In 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' (2008), struggling musician Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) goes into a downward spiral after being dumped by his long-term girlfriend, TV star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). After a clumsy attempt at becoming a lothario backfires, he almost loses his job when he has a nervous breakdown. In a last ditch effort to put the past behind him, Peter heads for the sun-soaked beaches of Oahu for a well-deserved holiday. Everything goes swimmingly until Sarah turns up at the exact same resort accompanied by her new boyfriend, the wildly successful rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand)...
