God's Little Acre

Comedy drama adapted from the novel by Erskine Caldwell following a widower as he digs for gold on his farm during the Great Depression. Ty Ty Walden (Robert Ryan) has spent the last 15 years searching for the gold which was supposedly left to him by his grandfather and, in the process, has ruined his land. Consumed by his obsession and in debt as a result, he causes trouble for his family who are struggling to get by.
